There is no use for it after the club moves

It's in a Islamic state

Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
The council can designate it an Asset of Community Value like Hackney council did with the Chesham Arms near me, which means another place for us hipsters to drink.

£4 a pint

12,500 pints

Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
Hold on, are there actually any West Ham fans living in Newham?

You learn new things every day.

Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
It's not a nice pub on the inside. Has just relied on matchday income and hasn't seen a lick of paint for years. Doesn't deserve to be saved.

Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
I agree with Sven, best thing for it is to be rebuilt at the OS or in Stratford near the new ground. Great idea what your doing but it will cost them more to keep it open. Its to dependant on match days to make money

Just don't expect Def or Fortunes to sign, they're looking forward to the Bollywood cinema being extended.

Only been in it once.

Too packed, couldn't get served, fucked off

Eggbert Nobacon 5:39 Tue Aug 4
Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
don't get me wrong i'd love them to stay open. But the fact is they are probably not viable businesses without match trade

so who is meant to take the ineviatable losses if they stay as pubs?

Eggbert Nobacon 5:38 Tue Aug 4
Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
if you force them to keep it open the poor sods running it will probably go bankrupt

either that or as it can't be used for anything else they'd pull out and it would sit empty

Sven Roeder 5:34 Tue Aug 4
Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
Better off having it rebuilt brick by brick at Stratford.
Once West Ham go you'd imagine every pub near the ground will go.
After next May 99% of people who go to matches will have no reason to visit Upton Park ever again.

Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
Fully appreciate and understand the sentiment in what you are trying to do, however as has been pointed out, as sad as it is, there is no way the place can survive without football.

It will be a Paddy Power or Tesco Express if they save the building. Or perhaps a mosque.
